MAIN ROLE IN THE MYSTIC GROUP: Due to his navy/sailing experience, he's the captain of the ship - he learns some swordplay and is physically the strongest of the group, he's someone who definitely wants to be the main group leader
MAIN WEAPON: his physical strength makes him great for hand-to-hand combat/wrestling, and he has a one-handed cutlass sword

PERSONALITY: Abel is quite a macho, manly man with a strong sense of pride, especially since he has a lot of strength and experience. As the oldest of eight children, he is incredibly responsible and nurturing, especially over those who remind him of his family (Imani and Ivory especially). He's quite a mama bear, but he doesn't like to let too many know about that - he loves to present himself as strong, no-nonsense, super intimidating, a strong leader. The reality is he's the type of guy who jokes around like a complete dork and gets overly flustered around the girl he likes. He is very protective and watches over others, but he can respect the strengths and weaknesses in them too. Abel is very reliable overall, but he does have some terrible flaws. He's not the brightest guy, who relies more on intuition and feelings and his own physical strength above all else. He lacks logic and only lets few people criticise him. Abel hates to be seen as vulnerable and hates having his flaws picked at. When it comes to people he really dislikes, he can be very argumentative and continue to rub the other person the wrong way. As he's used to being a leader and being responsible for everyone else, he hates being told what to do by others (unless your name is Kaitlyn Rey, in which you have every say over what he does, lol).

MAIN ROLE IN THE MYSTIC GROUP: Her beauty and charm aid her well with the art of manipulation, and she's very influential on both Abel and Chris, and she learns knife throwing as well (she attempts swordplay and archery and dislikes both forms of combat)

BEST FRIENDS IN THE MYSTIC: Christmas 'Chris' Kranz
CRUSH: she doesn't really have a crush and enjoys flirting, especially with Quintus 'Quin' Damiani, Abel Newport and Christmas 'Chris' Kranz (she loves that both Abel and Chris have major crushes on her and that part of their rivalry is over her, sigh)
DOESN'T GET ALONG WITH: Miriama Wilson (rival), Jarvis Webster
PERSONALITY: Kaitlyn is from one of the richest families in Australia and has lived the life of a socialite who's good at getting what she wants. Manipulation is her strength, as is her physical appearance, which captures the interests of others very easily. She isn't as strong as the others physically, but her other qualities more than make up for it. To the world though, Kaitlyn comes across as a blonde bimbo who is very charming with the males. She likes to have the world at her feet, and she knows how. Kaitlyn is very superficial and quick to judge others, and she often finds that she ends up with more male friends than female friends. She is also easily judged by others and many don't even bother to get to know the real her and know her insecurities and so on, only seeing a selfish pretty face. Of the Mystic 13, Kaitlyn is definitely someone to keep an eye on.

MAIN ROLE IN THE MYSTIC GROUP: He has leadership skills and wants to be the main group leader, he is also incredibly intelligent and is the group's navigator (he also learns knife throwing, and a bit of magic from Delilah)

PERSONALITY: One important thing to know when getting along with Chris is to never speak of his real name. It's embarrassing to him, and he was just in the process of getting his name legally changed when he got thrown into The Mystic. Of course. In any case, Chris is an intellectual gentleman on the whole. He is fancy, from a wealthy background, and is projected as someone who will be incredibly successful in future. Chris was student president back at high school and awarded the honour of being the top student at his school, which was one of the best schools in Amsterdam. When around like-minded people, Chris displays an amazing amount of charisma, but towards everyone else, he acts like he's better than them. He works at his best when he gets to run everything this way, which naturally puts him in conflict with Abel. Chris develops strong feelings for Kaitlyn, finding her to be quirky yet beautiful nonetheless. While he's trying to claim his spot as 'King' of the Mystic 13 and lead everyone on their journey, he'd love to have Kaitlyn as his 'Queen'. Chris is rather self-entitled and determined to be the 'success story' of this adventure, but he guards a secret that he feels will ruin him.

i'm so mad deviantart ate my original commentary -- either way, Abel didn't change a whole lot, Kaitlyn and Chris certainly did though! Mostly in terms of their outfits anyways.
